This is what is known as False Advertising, Deceptive Trade Practices and Misrepresentation
1. Click on the Level IV Master Golf Teaching Professional® link under 4 Levels of Golf Teaching Certification at the top left hand side of the USGTF website. It takes you to:
2. This photo shown on their website, which we pasted to this statement of fact on December 25, 2010 is over 5 years old! They use the same photograph on other pages such as under the "Teaching Certification" category box:
Level IV - Master Golf Teaching Professional® and on http://usgtf.com/level4.html
3. In this photograph, the name of one of the graduates is spelt Mike McCormack. His name is Michael McCormick who was recertified by the PGTAA over 4 years ago.
4. The USGTF mentions "500 graduates" therein, therefore their advertising would lead a reasonable person to assume they have at least 500 Level 4 graduates, this from over 19,000members! (This is stated on their video which by the way, was
modeled after the PGTAA's video. What this really tells you is that the quality and standard of their "students/applicants" could only produce 500 Master Teaching Professionals and this photo was taken five years ago! There is no current photo.
If you want to become a RECOGNIZED professional Golf Teacher, the PGTAA Certification is your answer. We screen every applicant for experience, skills in teaching, communications and golf. And each student must obtain at least an 85% pass rate on a 101 question essay style written exam. Not 25 questions as called for by the USGTF.
Furthermore, we do not believe in different levels that cost students money to complete. Rather, we believe that to obtain the highest quality students, the PGTAA needs to offer the best, most affordable and most accepted curriculum, study materials and teachers. This is our foundation to our credibility and the highest reputation we enjoy. This can only be found at the PGTAA and it is why we work with over 40 Tour players!
