BRIDGESTONE GOLF CONTINUES TO INNOVATE WITH NEW
The leader in Golf Ball Technology Expands Contact Science with New Cover Formulation
Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, announced today the all new e12 CONTACT golf ball, featuring a FLEXATIV cover, the fourth generation of Contact Science that helps create 46% more surface contact at impact.
Borrowed from Bridgestone Tire, Contact Science optimizes the moment of impact, yielding faster speeds on more powerful contact and higher spin rates on less powerful contact. Designed for players looking for a combination of maximum distance, straighter overall shots, exceptionally soft feel, and enhanced short game performance, the new e12 CONTACT golf balls are loaded with technology, highlighted by the brand new FLEXATIV Surlyn cover.
The new FLEXATIV cover is designed using impact modifiers that allow it to react to the amount of force applied at impact. When struck with a driver the cover behaves like a firmer material for faster ball speed and more distance, and also less sidespin for straighter shots and enhanced forgiveness on off-center hits.
When struck with a wedge or short iron however, it behaves like a softer, slower material. The result on shorter shots, when combined with CONTACT Force dimples, is 46% more surface contact, creating significantly more spin and control around the greens.
“We learned a lot from working on the TOUR B line and were able to apply some similar design features to the new e12 CONTACT,” said Elliot Mellow, Golf Ball Marketing Manager for Bridgestone Golf. “The new ball is about as advanced as anything you can find in the straight-distance category and can provide exceptional speed, longer, straighter shots, and solid short game performance for a wide range of players.”
The CONTACT Force dimple design on the new e12 CONTACT, which carries over from the previous model, features a structure with a raised area in the center and an outer portion that slows sidespin during flight. The raised area of the dimple allows for more contact with the clubface at impact than traditional dimples, yielding a much more efficient transfer of energy and improved core activation. The result is faster ball speed and more distance with every club in the bag. Short game spin and control is also improved due to increased contact with the clubface.
“FLEXATIV represents our fourth iteration of Contact Science,” said Adam Rehberg, Senior Manager, Ball Fitting and R&D. “Our engineers have found a way to combine the structural and chemical advantages of Contact Science and put them into one golf ball, creating a model that flies longer, straighter, and spins more on short shots around the green. It’s an impressive achievement in design and manufacturing.”
The three-piece Bridgestone e12 CONTACT will be at retail in March 2023 and feature a street price of $34.99 per dozen. In addition to the classic white version, the e12 CONTACT will be available in Matte Green, Matte Red and Matte Yellow color options. For help selecting which premium

TITLEIST INTRODUCES NEW PRO V1 AND PRO V1x GOLF BALLS
Improved core technology raises the bar for the #1 Ball in Golf
New Models Provide Longer Distance, Lower Long Game Spin, and Greater Consistency
FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (Jan. 18, 2023) - The 2023 Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x - the next generation of the most trusted golf balls in the game - set another standard for tee-to-green performance and consistency through advanced core technologies validated by the best players in the world.
Available in golf shops beginning Jan. 25, new Pro V1 and Pro V1x are engineered with high-gradient core designs that deliver lower long game spin for increased distance and a more consistent flight – helping golfers hit the ball longer and straighter while maintaining the Drop-and-Stop greenside control that Pro V1 and Pro V1x players rely on to play their best.
The new high-gradient constructions feature progressive firmness levels that lower long game spin without sacrificing short game spin. High-gradient core technology, combined with the continued advancement of Titleist's unparalleled manufacturing process, produces more consistent spin and speed performance for even tighter dispersion.
“We’re looking for consistency in every element of golf ball construction, from the aerodynamics down to the core,” said Mike Madson, Senior Director Golf Ball Research and Engineering. “We always want the ball flying in the same window regardless of how it’s oriented, and we want the ball to produce consistent launch, spin, and speed on every shot. Consistency means when a golfer tees up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, every properly executed shot they make is going to deliver the performance they expect and the performance they trust.”
Along with these key innovations, Pro V1 and Pro V1x both remain true to their unique play styles: Pro V1 offers the best combination of distance, spin, and feel in the game and delivers a penetrating ball flight. Pro V1x is engineered to fly higher and spin more with irons and in the short game, while still offering low spin on longer shots to maximize distance.
“For a Titleist golf ball to be new, it must be better,” said Frederick Waddell, Director of Golf Ball Product Management. “For us to call it a new Pro V1, it needs to be demonstrably better than the prior generation. We go through a rigorous testing and validation process to ensure the performance improvements developed by our world-class R&D team are recognized by the golfer when they put it in play and experience the product.”
2023 Pro V1 and Pro V1x Technology: The most advanced iterations of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x yet, both golf balls feature significant innovations to improve on-course performance, including:
• New High Gradient Core Design: An all-new, reimagined core in the new Pro V1 and the dual core Pro V1x are built to be firmer on the outside and progressively softer on the inside, which promotes fast speeds and low long game spin. The new cores take inspiration from popular CPOs (Custom Performance Options) - Pro V1 Left Dot and Pro V1x Left Dash - both of which feature high gradient cores and are the choice of several players on professional tours.
• New Dual-Core Dimension: There has been a change in the 2023 Pro V1x dual core design, with the inner core increasing center volume by 44%, from 1” to 1.13” in size. This works in concert with the high gradient, as the larger and softer center helps to drive down long game spin and increase stability through the air.
• Speed Amplifying High-Flex Casing Layer: Casing layers on both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x interact with the high gradient cores to further neutralize excess spin while combining with the soft cast urethane cover to provide unparalleled greenside spin and control.
• Cast Thermoset Urethane Cover: The urethane covers on the Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls utilize a proprietary thermoset process. Two separate components are mixed, and the liquid urethane is cast into Titleist-manufactured cavities which form the appropriate dimple pattern into the cover. The precise timing of the curing process and temperature are integral to the consistency of the urethane and the performance the golfer experiences on the course.
• Spherically-tiled Tetrahedral Dimple Designs: With a 388-dimple design on the Pro V1 and a 348-dimple design on Pro V1x, both golf balls have optimized aerodynamics to fly consistent and far. The Pro V1x’s dimple pattern allows the ball to launch and fly in a slightly higher window than the Pro V1.
TOUR VALIDATION:
mediacenter.titleist.com/en-US/222068-tour-validation-2023-pro-v1-and-pro-v1x
Choosing Between Pro V1 and Pro V1x: Pro V1 is the best ball for players seeking very low long game spin, more distance, penetrating and consistent flight, and Drop-and-Stop greenside control, all of which complements Pro V1’s very soft feel. Pro V1x is the best choice for golfers seeking higher flight and more spin, with a slightly firmer feel compared to Pro V1.
Colors and Play Numbers: White golf balls are available with play numbers 1-4, 5-8, and all the same play numbers 00 or 1-99. High optic yellow golf balls are available with play numbers 1-4.

Srixon’s SOFT FEEL provides golfers comfortable feel at impact and confidence at address. Equipped with a premium FastLayer Core, Speed Dimple Pattern and a soft, thin cover for enhanced greenside spin, SOFT FEEL delivers impressive ball speeds while balancing distance and feel.
“The consistent love for the SOFT FEEL has been tremendous and with each generation, this being our 13th , we’ve tried to incorporate new ways of providing golfers a softer feel that’s unmatched in a low-compression option,” said Amelia DeLazzer, Product Manager at Srixon. “This is one of our softest FastLayer Cores to date. It’s a core that is soft in the center and firms up on the outside giving golfers equal parts distance and feel.”
Added core resiliency also plays a key factor in the SOFT FEEL. The FastLayer Core snaps back into shape more quickly after impact, delivering more ball speed, and reducing unintended long game sidespin.
SOFT FEEL golf balls include Srixon’s signature Speed Dimple Pattern, the 338 aerodynamic dimples improve the overall flight performance even in the toughest wind conditions. With a lower drag coefficient, the ball can cut through the air with less resistance, maintain a penetrating launch, and hold onto ball speed without sacrificing distance.
Two additional SOFT FEEL options are available in the SOFT FEEL LADY and SOFT FEEL BRITE. SOFT FEEL LADY is for women golfers who still want the softness of the SOFT FEEL, but a slightly higher launch for more distance. SOFT FEEL BRITE features Matte Visual Performance Technology, designed for those who prefer enhanced visibility on the course, while maintaining the exceptional feel and distance of SOFT FEEL.

SACKS PARENTE GOLF (SPG) SAVES GRAMS AND SAVES SHOTS BY SHIFTING TO ITS NEWLY PATENTED MAGNESIUM FACE TECHNOLOGY
SPG’s Series 66mg putter leads the way in the move from an aluminum insert to the new magnesium face technology for better feel and accuracy
Sacks Parente Golf (SPG) is continuing its relentless pursuit of helping golfers make more putts by introducing a crucial gram-saving putter insert technology. Starting with the company’s Series 66mg Anser-style putter, SPG is moving from its original aluminum insert and replacing it with SPG’s new patented magnesium face technology – a patent that SPG secured earlier this year.
Why the Switch from Aluminum to Magnesium Inserts?
The inspiration behind the change originated from SPG’s obsession with saving and redistributing weight to places that benefit the golfer the most. “Everything we do is about saving weight and redistributing it to the benefit of the golfer,” said Steve Sacks, Co-founder of SPG. “Saving grams is what we do, and I believe we are better at that kind of engineering than anybody.”
SPG’s patented magnesium face technology is 35% lighter than aluminum, allowing SPG engineers to take 4-5 grams out of the middle of the club and place it in the heel and toe – all to deliver a more stable Anser-style putter.
“Aluminum weighs 2.7 grams per cubic centimeters, whereby magnesium weighs 1.74 grams per cubic centimeters,” said Sacks. “That’s five times lighter than steel. We tried all kinds of materials including metals, ceramics, different steels in different configurations, and we found that magnesium provides a better feel than aluminum. Our patented magnesium face insert will keep the ball online even with a mishit of up to ½” to the toe or the heel from center. This technology, that only SPG can deliver, provides the ultimate in lightweight and performance.”
Additional Technologies and Patents in the Series 66mg Putter
Ultra-Low Balance Point (ULBP)
The Series 66mg putter, as do all SPG putting instruments, incorporates an additional SPG patent, the Ultra-low Balance Point (ULBP) technology, which means that SPG engineers have taken weight out of the shaft and grip and centralized most of the weight in the head. With a lighter shaft and grip, golfers can feel the gravity in the head weight enabling a natural stroke, good tempo, toe release and neutral acceleration at point of impact – all resulting in a consistent putting stroke.
CNC Milled
The Series 66mg putter is CNC milled from five different metals, all formulated by SPG engineers to deliver feel, roll and distance control so lag putts become second nature and three-putts a thing of the past.
The SPG Series 66mg putter is available now for $479.99 on www.sacksparente.com.
